Thoughtfully Designed Living Spaces

Step into a warm, inviting interior that has been curated for comfort and style.  Kindly note that the property is not universally accessible, and some guests my struggle with the original 1890’s tight stair winders.

Ground Floor – Contemporary Kitchen & Utility Area

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances including an air fryer, gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. Prepare meals with ease using quality cookware and enjoy your morning coffee with complimentary Yorkshire tea, cafetière coffee, milk (let us know your preference), and more. Ambient LED lighting sets the mood, while a cosy two-seater and smart TV offer a casual space to relax.

Also on this level: a rainfall shower room with luxury toiletries and fluffy towels, a utility area with workspace, and direct access to the garden – ideal for alfresco dining or giving your four-legged friend a warm rinse with the outdoor dog shower.

First Floor – Elegant Lounge with Period Features

The spacious lounge showcases original Yorkshire stone flooring, exposed beams, and a wood-burning stove (starter log pack included) – creating a warm and atmospheric space for evening relaxation. Comfortable seating, entertainment, books, and board games make this a perfect spot to unwind. The sofa bed is prepared for bookings of five or six guests and features a memory foam topper for added comfort.

Top Floor – Boutique Bedrooms & Designer Bathroom

The principal bedroom features a supremely comfortable Emma mattress, stylish built-in storage, blackout blinds, and soft ambient lighting – perfect for restful nights. The second bedroom offers full-sized bunk beds, ideal for children or additional guests, with clever storage and considered lighting.

A contemporary family bathroom completes the upper floor, featuring a rainfall shower over a compact bath, luxury toiletries, and thoughtful fittings. Instructions for the intuitive digital bath controls are provided.

Practical Notes

This 1890-built home has stairs with turns and some charming quirks (original floor slopes and low doorways), and may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
Weekly linen and towel change available for stays over 7 nights.
Full access to the property and garden, excluding a private storage area.

Perfect for discerning travellers seeking a unique, well-appointed home in the heart of Yorkshire’s countryside. Book your South Pennines escape today.

We had a lovely stay in Mike’s cottage. It was spotlessly clean, had lots of thoughtful touches and an amazingly well stocked kitchen. The welcome basket was great. It was warm and cosy especially after returning from some wet and cold walks! We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again.

This was a last minute booking and I am local to the area. I had a flood at home and needed somewhere urgently to stay with my cat! I was fortunate enough to find Mike’s place free for a week. Mike was very understanding and responsive to my messages. The house was so clean with everything you could possibly need. Especially in an emergency! I would highly recommend and this place will always be a go to for me and would recommend to friend and family who are visiting my area 😊

We had a wonderful few days away at this beautiful property. We particularly appreciated the welcome supplies, which was very kind. The welcome pack contained all relevant information we needed. A beautiful fitted kitchen with everything you would need. My husband particularly liked the room off the kitchen which had a small desk and office chair. The lounge was roomy with 3 very comfortable sofas. The 2 good sized bedrooms had lovely mattresses and we slept extremely well. I really appreciated the extra touches Mike includes to make your stay more comfortable, tooth brushes, makeup wipes etcMike’s communication with us was exceptional and I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Everything you could need available. Able to travel light as everything catered for . Lovely touch of tea ,coffee , breakfast and milk. Mike was very proactive. Arriving during a particularly cold 🥶 weather blast , he noticed that we were boosting the heating so ensured that timers and temperatures were reset without being asked .
